What kind of aro are you?
I have never had or wanted a romantic relationship with anyone. I like sex, I love my friends and family, but as I'd been saying for years before I discovered the term "aromantic", I'm just not a relationship person.

What do you do for fun?
I play and watch football, I row and coach rowing, I play video games and D&D and I LOVE travelling.

What was the last movie you saw?
I invited a friend over last week to watch Suckerpunch because she'd never seen it, and obviously that error had to be corrected.

What's a sound you hate?
At my work they test the fire alarms every Friday morning, and every week I forget and have a mini freak-out when it happens.

What's a smell you love?
Hot dust and eucalyptus on a summer afternoon.

Do you have any obsessions right now?
KINGDOM HEARTS 3 IS FINALLY HERE. Also David Dawson in The Last Kingdom.

Last year I finally got a tattoo of a redback spider. This week on Reasons I Should Have Known I Was Aro: The only thing I've ever wanted permanently marked on my skin is a spider famous for its sexual cannibalism.

Who's your favourite fictional villain?
THERE ARE SO MANY. But Thrawn from the Star Wars Expanded Universe has been one of my favourite characters in anything ever since I was 9 years old.

Who's a celebrity you admire?
Edward Snowden. You know when you're a kid and for school projects they ask you to write about things like "Who is your hero"? I never had a real answer to that growing up. But now I can say with no reservation that Edward Snowden is absolutely my hero.

Are you a cuddler?
Depends how much I've had to drink. Don't touch me sober, but feed me enough wine and I'll probably fall asleep curled around you.

What five objects should someone put in a pentagram to summon you?
A bottle of Lagavulin, a Pilot H-185 mechanical pencil, an Android phone with Pokemon Go, a frequent-flyer loyalty card, and a baby rat.

What's one thing you wish people knew or understood about your identity?
That I'm not lying when I say sex for me is a purely physical thing, with zero inherent emotional aspect to it.

Don't get me started on copyright law. I have a lot of opinions on copyright law.
